Retail Visual Identity (RVI) Branding Tips

Retailers use visual identities (Retail Visual Identity) to create a unique look that will attract attention and build customer loyalty.

Here’s how to create one that works.

To start with, think about who your ideal customer is. What do they care about? How would they describe your product or service? Once you’ve identified your ideal customer, consider the following questions:

  • 1) Is there something about your store that makes it stand out from other stores?
  • 2) Does your logo need to be updated?
  • 3) Do you need to add new colors to your existing logo?

Know Your Target Audience.

You should also make sure that your logo reflects the type of people who will visit your store. If you sell clothing, then your logo should reflect that. If you sell electronics, then your logo should show that.

  • 4) Are you using too much text?
  • 5) Is your website easy to navigate?
  • 6) Do you need to update your social media profiles?
  • 7) Have you considered adding a QR code to your storefront?
  • 8) Do you need to use more than one color scheme?
  • 9) Do you need to change your font style?
  • 10) Do you need to redesign your website?

Choose a Color Palette That Works For You.

There’s no right answer here. Every business has different needs and goals. However, there are some general guidelines that apply across the board.

  • 1) Keep it simple.
  • 2) Avoid clashing colors.
  • 3) Don’t go overboard with bright colors.
  • 4) Try to avoid using black as your primary color.
  • 5) Be careful when choosing a dark background.
  • 6) Consider using a light gray or white background.
  • 7) Make sure that your main color isn’t too close to your secondary color.
  • 8) Avoid using too many fonts.
  • 9) Avoid using too many shades of the same color. 10) Avoid using too many patterns.

Create a Logo with Personality.

If you’re looking to create a logo that will help people recognize your business, consider adding personality to it. This will make it easier for them to associate your company with something they care about.

Incorporate Brand Elements into Other Marketing Materials.

You can use your logo as part of other marketing materials, such as brochures, flyers, and websites. Consider using your logo in these materials to reinforce your branding message.
